Scout is a Sony Ericsson C905 that I’ve had since the end of 2008.
Though I still find I prefer the ‘candy bar’ of the K800i, the slide phone is slowly growing on me. I haven’t found a lot of differences in the two devices other than some applications, and, of course, the camera.
It’s heavier and bulker than Gremlin, my k800i, so it doesn’t fit as well in my pocket, and the keys don’t depress as readily – I really have to mean it – but it’s sturdy.
The Cybershot feature was why I opted to get both these phones over other, newer, more popular devices, wanting to have a camera with phone attached rather than the other way around. The effort Sony Ericsson put toward these cameras pays off I think; some of the pictures it takes are wonderful.
I like the phone’s macro function – clearly, I’ve taken a lot of macro shots – but I do find it touch and go on the really small subjects. Having to zoom in from a distance often results in blurry images, or a kind of fresco / crystallised quality.
However, aside from being too big to fit in my jeans pockets, I love this phone.
